Meet Steve Harris

History

Steve first came to St. George Island in August of 1997 for a family vacation - and, owned his first house on the island in September of 1997. Obviously, it was the place of his and his wife's dreams. The local oysters, shrimp, and fish and the friendly residents were exactly what they were searching for.

Steve Harris and his wife moved from Walton County, GA where he was President of Tucker Door and Trim Corp. During that time he was gaining knowledge and experience from years of being a landlord, a rental property owner in Florida, and an investor in resort and residential rental properties. Therefore, Steve understands and can relate to the first time second home buyer as well as the seasoned investor who sees the opportunities found in the Forgotten Coast real estate market.

Community

Enjoying the laidback community of St. George Island and Apalachicola, FL is important to Steve and his wife Cecilia who have lived fulltime on the island since 2003. They are active members of the SGI Civic Club, the SGI Lighthouse Association, the SGI Literary Club, the Circle of Friends, and are volunteers at the SGI Visitors' Center. Steve has served as president of the Civic Club and has been chosen "Man of the Year" for his volunteering efforts on the island. He is an active volunteer and just completed his 6th year as judge in the Annual SGI Chili Cook-off.

Education/Associations/Qualifications

Steve Harris graduated from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta and also attended Andrew Jr. College in Cuthbert, GA. In 1989 he received his MBA from the Georgia State University Executive MBA Program.

Steve is a member of the National Association of Realtors, Florida Association of Realtors, and Franklin & Gulf County Board of Realtors . He is a member of the Real Estate Buyers Agent Council (REBAC). Steve is an Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) and a Certified Distressed Property Expert.

Areas Served

Steve began his real estate career in Georgia and now works primarily along the Forgotten Coast of Florida from Alligator Point through Carrabelle, Apalachicola, St. George Island, indian Pass, Cape San Blas, Port St. Joe to Mexico Beach and repeatedly ranks among the top selling agents for the local MLS.

Hobbies

Hobbies include fishing, beachcombing, reading, walking, biking, and sharing this beautiful island with his many friends, family, and clients.

Family

Steve and his wife have two sons, a daughter, 2 daughters-in-law, 1 son-in-law, a grandson, a granddaughter, 3 cats, and a mighty fine dam good Golden Retriever named Shadow who loves the beach.
